When I went to the AYF and Pop Detector National Championships in December I obtained to fulfill Joe Cianflone, the head instructor of the Mint Hillside Chargers 8th Grade team. Joe was also named as Offensive Planner of the East All-Stars in the Under Armour All-Star game in St Petersburg Florida. We also got an opportunity to see his team technique and play two video games. You are going to hear a little about Joe and extra importantly just what he assumes regarding the video game and just what trains can do better.
Understanding from the Best
His best training memories remarkably didn’t come from the championship seasons, yet rather in video games or periods where his groups beat teams with far remarkable size, speed and ability like his JV Senior high school team in Lake Mary Florida that went 8-0 and did it with a 5 ‘2″ Quarterback that couldn’t throw and a 135 lb beginning Defensive End. He also mentioned his 1989 15-16-year-old team from Brooklyn that beat a team with 5 DI gamers on it by the score of 28-0. Joe’s youth group is from Mint Hill, in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. Mint Hill rampaged via the SPBO National Competition’s 8th Grade Unlimited Department, winning all 3 video games by 5-7 goals. Joe such as playing in AYF because of the opportunity for the actual big kids to play in the unlimited department and the liberty it enables them to set up additional games.
He has been a spread coach for over 20 years; he was spread out when the spread wasn’t cool. Their operating video game consists of Power, SPBO Counter, Catch, G, Outside Area and Within Area plays. In the video games I saw in person, the runs were largely Power and Counter. His passing video game is extremely easy, it consists of Bubble, Rocket/Tunnel Display, Smoke Display, Slant/Arrow, Goes/Hitch, Waggle, Mesh, Slant/Wheel, Stick and 3 Verticals concepts. For pass protection he utilizes both full slide and native pass pro, splitting them at concerning 50/50. His line splits are 2 feet on occasion his tackles might bend to 3 feet.
